Trimble Australia announces the latest release of its machine control
systems, Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System and Trimble CCS900 Compaction
Control System, offering performance and productivity improvements for dozers
GradeMax Plus Technology
Trimble GCS900 version 12.7 features GradeMax Plus, a new technology
that increases the overall performance of dozers by allowing the operator to
grade faster and more consistently with tighter accuracy. Trimble GS420 Inertial
Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor is used to detect the current rate of
acceleration and changes in orientation.
The rate at which the GCS900 system drives the valves on the dozer has
been increased for smoother, more consistent control and rapid recovery of the
dozer blade so operators can grade higher quality surfaces at even faster
speeds without constraints.
Ryan Kunisch, marketing director for Trimble Heavy Civil Construction explains
that the latest release takes machine control to a new level with GradeMax Plus
technology allowing contractors to grade 35-40 percent faster on average,
depending on the dozer type and the material being graded.
Wireless Data Share
Trimble CCS900 version 12.7 introduces wireless data share or machine-to-machine
communication that enables operators to share mapping data between compactors
on the same site in real-time. The machines communicate using a Wi-Fi network
via the Trimble SNM940 Connected Site Gateway telematics device.
Wireless data share allows each compactor to see the work being done by
other compactors in real-time, so that operators are aware of the status of
compaction work in various areas. A new layer management functionality enables operators
to view the layers or lifts other compactors are working on, allowing them to achieve
more consistent compaction while also reducing the amount of under- and
The mapping information is synchronised back to the office for progress
monitoring and compaction documentation and reporting, using Trimble’s VisionLink
asset management and project monitoring software.
Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System and CCS900 Compaction Control System
version 12.7 are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2015 through
Trimble’s worldwide SITECH Technology Dealer Channel.
