Spantech installed a shade structure to cover an existing concrete sports court at the Emmanuel College in Carrara on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Spantech designed and constructed the covered outdoor learning area (COLA) to provide an all-weather shelter for the multipurpose play area, which is adjacent to the school oval, near the front entrance of the school.
This building now serves as the designated pick-up area for Grades One to Three, making it safer for children and more convenient for parents.
The Spantech shade structure replaced an existing portal frame structure that attracted birds and other vermin, with its shade sails also deteriorating with age.
