Established in 1997, Monkey Baa Theatre Company produces high quality theatre programs for young people and their communities.

Monkey Baa recently moved into the Lend Lease Darling Quarter Theatre which is equipped with an ETC Ion lighting control console. And when they needed to specify a lighting console for touring, they went for an ETC Element console from Jands .

ETC’s Element lighting consoles are designed for modest rigs and maximum hands-on fader control. They deliver all the fundamentals of lighting control and their small footprint mean they are excellent for touring.

The Element console is based on the Eos control system with a simplified feature set similar to the Express console. It is designed to handle lighting systems outfitted mainly with conventional fixtures. In addition, it can also handle LED fixtures and a small number of simple moving lights.

Monkey Baa’s production and operations manager Toby Knyvett reports that the Element is flexible and fast enough to meet the needs of regional venues without restricting creative options.

He says, “The ETC Eos/Ion/Element family of consoles is definitely offer the best control products for the Australian theatre sector at the moment. They are what many theatre venues are moving towards now that the Strand 300 / 500 Series has had its day.”
