Cooroy-based company, Ritek Building Solutions has been announced as finalists for the Hudson Business Award in the 2007 Telstra Business Awards.

Ritek Building Solutions is a finalist from the Sunshine Coast in this category and is competing against five other Queensland companies for the state award and 27 companies from around Australia for the national award.

Ritek Building Solutions are also eligible to be considered for the AMP Innovation Award.

Group Managing Director of Telstra Business and the Telstra Business Awards Ambassador, Ms Deena Shiff, said she was impressed with the high calibre of finalists this year. “This year’s finalists are leading the way in the business community,”” Ms Shiff said.

CEO of Ritek Building Solutions, Gayne Emblin said the whole team was excited by the announcement.

“Only 137 businesses throughout Australia have been chosen as finalists in four categories and we are extremely proud to be included in such a prestigious list.

“It just goes to show that regional areas are capable of competing on a national scale and that it isn’t where you are based but how you conduct business that counts. The whole team has a very strong ethos of innovation and a commitment to continuous development which keeps us at the leading edge of the industry.

We also recognise the importance of our people. Having fun, being involved in the community and balancing work and life commitments are all important parts of how we do business. It is great for this to be recognised as being leading edge business practice.”

Ritek Building Solutions commenced operations in Queensland in 1983 with the clear objective to provide innovative, functional products for the building industry in Australia and overseas.

The essential criteria were simple – cost effective designs, utilising high-tech, man-made materials that did not rely on the use of dwindling supplies of our natural resources.

These products are marketed as Ritek Building Systems and include the Ritek XL Wall System and the Ritek Custom Roof Panel which combine aesthetic design features and functional, sustainable building requirements without compromising structural or environmental integrity.
