Architecture practice Design Worldwide Partnership (DWP) has appointed new leadership across its global offices.
Specifically, there have been a number of leadership changes across Australia and the Middle East.
“Our growing presence gives us access to more markets, all of which are in different stages of their own economic cycles and with a variety of underlying economic strengths,” says DWP’s new global group Chief Financial Officer, Linda Dillon.
“I see great opportunities for us to provide our specialist design skills to clients in the various countries in which we are now active.”
In Australia, Michael Hegarty has been appointed as the regional managing director, with David Rose appointed as DWP’s chairman. Hegarty was previously the GHDWoodhead practice leader and is a well-known industry leader with global experience. He has been a key advisor to several major clients, including governments in the UK, Ireland and Australia.
Laraine Sperling has also been appointed as DWP’s strategic director for Australia to support growth in key markets and improve geographic reach.
These appointments are accompanied by the announcement of Charlie Kelly as the company’s regional managing director for North Asia and Philip Gillard as regional managing director for Middles East studios (formerly of Atkins and Gensler respectively).
“Our clients increasingly seek out our specialist services in the design of complex buildings and urban precincts including hospitals, hotels, civic, sports or university campuses,” says DWP CEO Brenton Mauriello.
“The new leadership team brings experience in the delivery of excellence in projects of this scale. These are truly exciting times as we strengthen our teams and expand the worldwide reach of our design practice. We opened our DWP Manila studio earlier this year and our new London and Singapore studios are due to open in early 2020, offering increased markets for DWP’s range of specialist design skills.”
