Clipsal Integrated Systems, is driving an increase in the take-up of smart home technology with its new Australian made C-Bus Wireless technology, distinguished from previous C-Bus home automation products in that it can perform an impressive range of lighting and control tasks without the need for pre-wiring to perform dimming or switching commands.

C-Bus wireless technology from Clipsal enables a range of tasks to be carried out without the need for pre-wiring.

Instead, the wireless range of products utilises a home’s existing electrical mains cables and incorporates Radio Frequency Transceivers and antennas to send and receive control commands.

The Wireless wall plates are installed like a 240V switch. The electrician or systems integrator simply pulls out the old switch and puts in the new C-Bus Wireless. The wall switches can be used as a stand-alone switch and dimmer, great for those who like the look of Clipsal Neo or glass Ulti Saturn switches.

2-way, 3-way or more switching and dimming can be set up between any switch and any light by doing some simple programming - add a remote control and some wireless plug adaptors and lamps can be dimmed or appliances switched on and off from any switch too.

Until now, the retrofit market has been an untapped area of potential for home automation, impeded by the high costs of renovation ie. wall trenching, re-plastering and painting but wireless technology removes that cost barrier.

“Wireless is the next big step in the 10 year evolution of C-Bus,” says Steve Cope, General Manager of Clipsal Integrated Systems. “Consumers can now retrofit a wireless home automation system to part or all of the home without structural change. All they need to do to extend their system to other rooms or areas is to simply buy another wireless component.”
