The Green Cities Weapons of Mass Creation competition has been run and won, with two notable projects from Cofely Australia and Dulux taking home the honours.
The initiative celebrated the creative use of sustainable ideas, techniques, technologies and design creativity, within a competition format.
Entrants were to submit high quality images, photographs and plans as well as a YouTube or Vimeo video that detailed an innovative reference to sustainability in a product or project.
The awards were presented at the final session of day 2 at the The Green Cities annual conference and exhibition, held at Melbourne’s Grand Hyatt.
The winning finalist named Most Innovative 2014 on the day was - Greening London, Greening the World, designed by Cofely Australia.
Cofely’s written, image and video submission for the competition were presented to the audience along with the 4 other shortlisted finalists. The video explored the development of London’s 2012 Olympic infrastructure and showcased the sustainability ideas, technologies and energy efficient planning that shaped the outcome of the massive project.
The public also cast their votes for their favourite innovation and awarded the 'People's Choice' Award to Dulux their EnviroSolutions paint range. The project titled- Meeting the challenge for a sustainable future fought off competition from eTool, J Goddard & Co, Kingspan and of course Cofely, to be the audience favourite.
