The 2016 Making Cities Liveable Conference will once again bring focus back on the quality of life in cities with an extensive conference program covering a wide range of topics from community development and health to transport, energy and waste management.

To be held at the Pullman Melbourne on the Park from 27 June to 28 June 2016, the 9th Making Cities Liveable Conference will discuss topics related to healthy, sustainable, resilient and liveable cities, and improving the quality of life in the country’s capitals and major regional cities.

The 2016 Conference Committee invites authors and organisations interested in submitting a paper at the 9th Making Cities Liveable Conference to send in an abstract of no more than 300 words on their chosen topic.

The Conference Program will feature keynotes, concurrent sessions, case studies, panel discussions and poster presentations.

Topics will include: Community and social development; Effective place making; Planning for health: programs, food, lifestyle; Future technology and smart cities; Greenspace: low impact urban design; Bringing nature back into cities; Growth transforming our cities; Working with Governments; Access vs. mobility in transport; Improving liveability: challenges and solutions; City resources: food security, energy, water and waste; Cities for everyone: child and age friendly cities; Creative cities; Urban renewal; and Carbon and water positive urban environments.

Abstracts will be accepted till Monday, 29 February 2016 and authors will be notified by Monday, 14 March 2016 with acceptances to be confirmed by Tuesday, 29 March 2016. Draft program will be made available by Monday, 4 April 2016.
