Bradford Insulation has welcomed the recent announcements from the Federal Government regarding energy efficiency and housing.

Under the initiatives, the Federal Government will provide free insulation to 2.7 million homes, double the rebate for landlords to install insulation in rental properties and build 20,000 social and defence homes.

“We welcome the Federal Government’s acknowledgement of the importance of energy efficiency in housing and further stimulus to the housing sector,” Ray Thompson says, group marketing manager for Bradford Insulation.

Heating and cooling account for around 38 per cent of a typical home’s energy use. With insulation, a large 300 sqm home can save up to 80 per cent of heating and cooling costs, and a smaller 150 sqm home can save up to 60 per cent, compared to a non-insulated home.
