Developer SC Land has won an award for its first Melbourne residential development, Hue, at the 2008 HIA CSR Victorian Housing Awards.

SC Land was awarded 2008 Victorian Apartment Project of the Year for its Richmond development.

This success follows Hue’s recent international recognition at the 2008 CNBC Asia Pacific Property Awards, whereby the development won two awards in the categories of Best Development and Best Apartment and the AIA Awards where they won an architecture award in the category of residential architecture and multiple housing.

The Hue development is a collaboration between Graham Burrows of Jackson Clements Burrows (JCB) and SC Land’s Director, Harvard architecture graduate, Lance Chu.

Situated at 8 Lord Street Richmond, Hue features a cedar clad façade facing the street, punctuated by circular porthole windows. The motif is carried through to the front as landscaping with spherical concrete planters embedded in green astro turf (artificial grass).

Apartments feature Rogerseller baths, Italian tapware and Hansgrohe showers. Homes also have floor to ceiling glass windows.

Judged by industry professional, the HIA CSR Victorian Housing Awards recognise excellence in design, construction and installation of housing.
