Winners of the 2013 ACT Architecture Awards, chosen from 39 of the territory’s best architectural projects, will be announced at the National Arboretum this Saturday 22 June.

Tonkin Zulaikha Greer’s National Arboretum, EAST Hotel by Cox Architecture and the Realm Precinct by Colin Stewart Architects are some of the well-known projects in the running for awards under the following categories: heritage, interior, small project, commercial, public, residential – houses and multiple housing, public architecture and urban design.

These projects will vie for the prestigious President’s Medal, and amongst others, the Clem Cummings Award, Emerging Architect Award, Canberra Medallion and Colourbond + Inlight Award.

ACT Chapter President Tony Trobe says that this year’s Awards will offer an insight into current public and private architectural works, and recognise the architects and clients who have achieved design excellence while improving their towns and cities.

“The 2013 ACT Architecture Awards will not only be a celebration of the entries from this year but also an opportunity to reflect on the impressive architectural legacy created in the territory over the last one hundred years.”
