At the conclusion of the Sustainability Awards, the winner of the Best of the Best category is announced. To be eligible for Best of the Best, you simply submit an entry to any of the other 15 categories. From there, if your submission is declared the winner of the category entered, it automatically becomes a nominee for Best of the Best.
The winner is selected from among all the category winners on the basis of both sustainable outcomes and aesthetics and/or innovative design principles. Essentially, the winner is typically a ground-breaking idea or project, that causes great upheaval within the built environment and influences the future of the entire industry.
Last year’s Best of the Best champion was ECOPact and ECOPact Zero, by Holcim. The winner of the Green Building Materials category, ECOPact gives architects and construction companies the ability to include zero carbon concrete into their projects. This revolutionary product was developed right here in Australia, and is recognised as the first of its kind anywhere in the world.
