WoodSolutions is organising a three-day tour of Melbourne, Wodonga and Sydney for building professionals in June 2018 following the Frame Australia conference.
To begin on Wednesday 20 June in Melbourne, the tour will take participants to Australia’s largest CLT plant in Wodonga as well as a number of mass and timber framed buildings in Sydney. The tour to Wodonga to see XLAM’s CLT plant will be by luxury coach, and flights to Sydney have been arranged as well as overnight accommodation, if required.
The tour continues Thursday 21 June and Friday 22 June to many buildings currently being constructed or recently completed in and around Sydney. The buildings range from cross laminated timber apartments, offices, schools and community halls to a laminated veneer lumber industrial shed and a 6-storey timber framed apartment building.
The tour is strictly limited to building design professionals such as architects, developers, engineers, certifiers and cost planners among others with an interest in timber design.
Cost of the tour includes a flight from Albury to Sydney and accommodation on Wednesday and Thursday nights in Sydney, breakfast and lunch, and luxury bus travel. A reduced rate is available where accommodation is not required.
Note: Previous tours have been popular and sold out very quickly. Limited seats are available and will be allocated in order of receipt of full payment.

*XLAM CLT plant tour is for timber building design professionals only. For timber industry representatives or associated businesses, XLAM reserves the right to approve access to the plant. If access is denied, an alternative arrangement or full refund will be given.

8.30 am to 12.30 pm - Visiting various timber buildings

Personnel Protection Equipment (PPE)
A hi-vis vest and hardhat will be supplied. Participants are required to wear steel capped boots on some sites. All PPE requirements will be notified before tour commences.

The tour operators cannot guarantee that all the intended buildings will be accessible as conditions or situations may restrict access on the day. WoodSolutions will try to provide the advertised tour but reserves the right to make changes to the tour programme.
