The scope of works within the new Cranbrook School redevelopment project was extensive, with SUPAWOOD products featuring throughout different spaces in the school.

Architectus were the architects assigned the project, delivering a world-class design including a theatre, chapel, orchestral room, assembly hall and numerous learning spaces.

Within the hall, SUPAWOOD supplied a SUPACOUSTIC V-slot feature ceiling with curved panelling, concealed fixing, and allowing for airflow throughout the ceiling. The ceiling solution also offered acoustic benefits. Matching V-slot panels were provided in raw black MDF substrate to go between the actual panels and the services that were installed into them. Also in the hall, SUPACOUSTIC slotted multifunction walls were created, as well as matching doors. These were all painted in the SUPACOLOUR finish in grey.

The entry to the dining commons space was fitted out with SUPALINE panels finished in Jarrah natural timber veneer – a deep timber hue that flowed throughout a number of sections in the school.

In the theatre space, a SUPACOUSTIC V-slotted pattern was used on the ceiling in Black SUPAFINISH, which was back-grooved to assist with installation and curving onsite.

In the orchestral room, a custom triangle modular panel was created in a Tas Oak natural timber veneer finish, creating a striking vertical aesthetic throughout the walls in the space, as well as addressing the acoustic needs of the room.

The SUPACOUSTIC V-slotted product was also used on the chapel ceiling, finished in a Blackbutt natural timber veneer, creating a stunning feature across a raked ceiling. Full shop drawings were supplied, and all panels were shaped.

One of the most outstanding aspects of this project was that SUPAWOOD was able to offer a full solution, including shaping and custom modular panelling for the orchestral room. Also, although no specific fire requirements were present for the project, SUPAWOOD was able to collaborate with the architect and builder to provide an acoustically sound solution for the feature ceilings and walls in the hall that allowed for airflow.
