Smoke Control recently installed a series of smoke vents at the Coolah Nursing Home.
The fire engineer developed a smoke management plan that required an increase in the time available to enable a ‘stay and defend’ strategy to be effectively used. This would also allow the safe and assisted egress of the elderly occupants from the nursing home in the event of a fire.
Key requirements for the smoke vents included natural ventilation, day lighting, watertight system and smoke and heat venting.
