One of the key strengths of a portable stage system is the ability to easily pack it away when it is not in use. This is ideal for situations where you don’t need to use your stage on a daily basis, as it provides you with the flexibility to make the best use of your space, utilising it for a wide range of purposes as needed.

With this in mind, exactly how much area is needed to safely store your stage when it is not required? It all depends on the type and size of stage you have – so to help you map out the storage requirements for your new stage, read on to know exactly how much space is needed to store our two most popular portable stage systems.

Fold & Roll portable stages

A big drawcard of our ‘Fold & Roll’ style stage systems is that they are very quick and easy to set up and pack away. This is in part because they are resting on their own wheel system; however, this feature also means that they don’t store as tightly or compactly as our ‘Podium’ type systems.

To put this into context, our Diva Fold & Roll system features a 2400mm x 1200mm deck and when used as six units together, produces just over 17m² of stage floor. When this same stage is packed away and placed into storage, the six units would need a space of approximately 2.4m x 2.6m. This works out to be just over 6m², which is around 35% of the total stage area.

QUATTRO podium stage systems

In contrast, our QUATTRO podium stage system uses a 2000mm x 1000mm deck, which produces 40m² of stage floor via 20 podiums. To store this stage away, the 20 podiums can be stacked up on top of each other on our storage trolley kit and easily stored away in as little as 2m² of space when not in use. This means the storage space required works out to be only 5% of the total stage area, making the QUATTRO podium system a great choice where storage space is limited.

Which stage system best suits your available storage?

As described in the examples above, if your storage space is very limited, you will likely be better served with a podium style stage system paired with our storage trolley kit, as this takes up minimal space. Alternatively, if you have a reasonable amount of storage space available and you require a stage that is quick and easy to put up and pull down, then a Fold & Roll system may be a better fit.
