At a gala ceremony on the Gold Coast, Kennards Hire was named 2008 Rental Company of the Year in the category of businesses with a turnover above $3 million.
The important award, which followed a rigorous assessment by highly experienced and respected judges, was presented on the final night of the Hire and Rental Annual Convention. Kennards Hire also won the award in 2001.
Accepting the award, Group Chief Executive, Peter Lancken said it belonged to everyone who worked for Kennards Hire.
“This year we are celebrating our 60th anniversary and I think this is just going to make that celebration so much sweeter,” he said.
“I would like to acknowledge tonight that this award is really about our people – every one of our 800 or 900 full-time or part- time people who work the length and breadth of Australia.
“They have made this possible because of their dedication, their passion for the business and their care for our customers."
Peter Lancken thanked Bill Whitehouse, Kennards Hire’s National General Manager and Troy Watson, Branch Manager at the Seven Hills hire centre, which was inspected by the judges. Peter Lancken also paid tribute to Andy Kennard, who he said was “an inspiration”.
