DMF International supplied a fully automated rapid roll door to Sydney Water to replace the existing swing doors at the facility.
Sydney Water was using PVC ‘crash through’ swing doors to control air flow from their warehouse to the laboratory area. However, the PVC panels couldn’t stand up to the air pressure, causing the panels to flex and allow intrusion of air. Additionally, the constant impact of traffic through the doorway led to the discolouration of the PVC panels.
Sydney Water reached out to DMF for a solution, following which a fully automated rapid roll door, complete with an all-clear PVC door panel and seal to minimise air intrusion, was recommended for the application. To ensure fully automated and touch-free control, the door was provided presence sensing active motion sensors, which enabled detection of any person within the active area, in motion or stationary.
DMF’s Series RL3000E rapid roll door operates at a set speed of 1m/sec and features auto closing after a programmed time delay. Key features also include a control system based on DMF’s fully programmable HMI (human machine interface); door blade positioning by encoding; and anodised aluminium door columns with internal sealing to the door blade to ensure minimal air movement.
Custom manufactured at DMF’s Sydney factory, the Series RL3000E rapid roll door has achieved a very positive outcome for the client.
