Cemintel BareStone™ with the Cemintel ExpressWall™ System

Designed as a result of feedback from the market for a pre-finished facade that offers an authentic, but modern appearance, Cemintel BareStone™ combines the look of raw cement with the ease of installation and performance of the Cemintel ExpressWall™ system.

Used widely in both residential and commercial applications, the system consists of 9mm compressed panels that are coated in Cemintel™’s unique CeminSeal™ technology, preventing water from penetrating into the sheet.

Barestone™ utilises Cemintel’s ExpressWall™ fixing system, ensuring it is both an easy to install and highly durable solution

    • Expressed joint appearance
    • Flat, smooth appearance with countersunk screws
    • Exposed head fasteners for BareStone™ and pre-painted panels, offering a natural cementitious appearance
    • Tested weather resistance and designed for extreme wind pressures
    • Suitable for curved applications

The Cemintel ExpressWall™ system has been designed to be used for external cladding in buildings such as:

    • Supermarkets and shopping centres
    • Office buildings
    • Most commercial buildings
    • Residential homes and apartment buildings

Barestone™ utilises Cemintel’s ExpressWall™ fixing system, ensuring it is both an easy to install and highly durable solution

    • Vertical top hats have two fixing points for stability and create a structurally sound facade that has been designed and tested to be resistant to wind pressure in cyclonic regions
    • Highly durable, self-adhesive gaskets are easily attached to the top hat prior to installation
    • Reduction in installation time
    • Gasket seals vertical and horizontal joints, reducing the requirement for sealant and accommodating building movement

CSR Cemintel’s Barestone™ was featured as the main external facade product of a new public library, part of the $25 million Caboolture Hub cultural centre in South-east Queensland

The Caboolture Hub, a three-level complex that caters for the fast growing Moreton Bay region, was design in joint collaboration between Peddle Thorp Architects (PTA) and James Cubbit Archtiects (JCA).

PTA Architect, Brett Hudson said, “For the construction of the library, a large volume space at 3000sqm, our design team was determined to use materials that had a tactile and genuine and honest material quality. The aim was to use raw materials such as glass, zinc and concrete. Cemintel BareStone’s lightweight construction system and its pre-finished raw cement look was the ideal solution.”

“BareStone gave us the desired look that we had envisaged, and complimented the palette of folded zinc elements, and solid cores of coloured concrete. The library space wis simple in form and detailing, with the emphasis on natural light and sense od change in the say, as the light moves across clerestory lights.”

Approximately 1000 sqm of BareStone was used in prefinished panels with the architects utilising the flexibility of BareStone’s top gate system to create a stunning aesthetic.
