As a result of CASE Construction Equipment and New South Wales dealership Conplant parting ways, CASE will be setting up a new, company owned dealership in NSW.
During the transition phase, the new construction equipment dealership will be based in Conplant’s Ingleburn premises, before new premises can be established. Mick Smith, CASE Brand Leader, said some Conplant staff will remain with CASE and various new positions will be made available.
“While we’ve enjoyed our working relationship with Conplant during the past three years, we understand that market conditions and business strategy have meant it is time for Conplant to focus on its core business,” explained Mick.
“This change provides us with the ideal opportunity to establish a company owned dealership in NSW. However, we certainly recognise that the company owned model does not suit every market. In fact, the mix of company and privately owned dealerships is one of the greatest strengths of the national CASE dealer network, and gives us a great mix of perspectives to suit each market.”
“Our decision to cease being a CASE dealer was part of a broader back to traditional core business decision,” said Conplant’s Managing Director, Ian Coleman. “Earlier this year we commenced closing our asphalt plant manufacturing and distributorship companies. Our core business has always been compaction equipment, it’s what we do best, and it will now have our complete focus.”
“We’ve planned the transition very carefully in order to minimise the disruption to CASE customers. All customers will continue to receive the same, high level of support from CASE NSW as they’ve received from Conplant for the past three years,” said Mick.
Sydney, the Hunter Valley and Coffs Harbour, Queanbeyan and the Wagga/Albury district in NSW were previously covered by Conplant and will continue to be managed by CASE dealer, Hartwigs.
Mick Smith will manage the new CASE operated dealership in the interim, with the business looking to appoint an appropriate leader to manage the operation in the long term.
