Australia’s premier manufacturer of roof tiles and roofing products, Bristile Roofing has partnered with Watersun Homes on the Lyn Rowe Project, and will donate all roof tiles and their installation for the new home.

Born without arms or legs, Lyn Rowe, now aged 50 has been cared for by her parents, Ian and Wendy, in the same weatherboard house in Nunawading, Victoria all her life. Confined to her modified wheelchair, Lyn needs constant support from her devoted parents, who are both pensioners in their early 80s.

In addition to struggling with the physical and financial pressures of continuing to look after their daughter, their home was also in a state of disrepair.

The Lyn Rowe Project was set up by Watersun Homes with the support of many of their suppliers and trades-people to build a new specially equipped house to meet Lyn’s needs. The project is expected to be completed by July 2012.

The new house being built for Lyn has three bedrooms and features special designs and modifications to make life easier and more comfortable for the Rowe family. Widened hallways for wheelchair access, a ceiling hoist system fitted between the bathroom, bedroom and study, separate private entry for carers and therapists as well as cameras and monitors to allow vision into each room and the outdoor area are some of the new features in the house.

Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Bristile, Michael Monro believes that the best part about working with the Lyn Rowe Project is their involvement in the construction process and seeing their products being used to help a family who really needs it.
