The SlabDrain from ACO Polycrete was specified for a recent stormwater upgrade project at the MCG.
The MCG has upgraded its stormwater management system with the redirection of downpipes towards the concourse slab. Designers were required to provide adequate drainage to collect the runoff within the restrictions of the suspended slab and existing plumbing infrastructure.
ACO’s drain system, SlabDrain was considered sufficiently compact to fit within the slab’s structural beams. Additionally, every modular unit contained a connection provision, which gave designers the flexibility to join it to the pipe network below.
Stainless Heelsafe grates were also selected to meet the safety requirements of spectators.
Specified by Arup, ACO products featuring in the project included SlabDrain H200K with Stainless Heelsafe antislip grates.
