ARM has bolstered its leadership team, with Andrew Hayne (left) becoming a Director of the practice, while Amber Stewart (right) has been elevated to Associate Director.

Hayne now joins current Directors Howard Raggatt, Jesse Judd, Andrew Lilleyman and Mark Raggatt at the top table, while Stewart becomes the practice’s first Associate Director. Co-Founder Ian McDougall will oversee the practice’s publishing and research output, as well as design leadership.

Andrew Hayne’s journey at ARM commenced in 1998. An all-rounder with many an award to lay claim to, Hayne was heavily involved in the practice’s renewal of the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.

“From starting at ARM as a student over 25 years ago through to now has been an incredibly rewarding journey,” Hayne says.

“ARM is my home. I’m excited to continue this journey and help to build further on the remarkable legacy created by Steve, Howard and Ian.”

Stewart is both an architect and interior designer with outstanding knowledge of the connection between interior and exterior. Joining the practice in 2010, Stewart has worked at both of ARM’s Sydney and Melbourne studios, with a portfolio that includes the likes of the National Museum of Australia, St Leonard’s College, Sydney College of the Arts and the recent  Blacktown Exercise and Sports Technology Hub.

“ARM’s projects are ideas driven, consistently producing design excellence and exceptional outcomes. I’m excited to continue the legacy of thought leadership and storytelling through design,” Stewart says.

“I look forward to continuing to deliver transformational projects that have a positive impact on the people and places for which they are designed for.”

Director Jesse Judd believes the appointments are the turning of a new page.

“These new appointments mark an exciting new chapter at ARM,” he says.

“Both Andrew and Amber are instrumental members of the ARM family, having played key roles in some of our most significant projects.”

“We are thrilled to welcome them to the leadership team and see the great things they will bring.”
