Tonkin Zulaikha Greer (TZG) will hold the flag for Australia at the 2016 Asia Hotel Design Awards, their recently completed The Old Clare Hotel has been shortlisted alongside a host of projects from renowned internationals like Foster + Partners and Make Architects.
TZG’s transformation of The Old Clare Hotel in the Sydney suburb of Chippendale (scroll through images above) has been shortlisted for both the Urban Architecture of the Year and the Lounge, Lobby & Public Areas Interior Design of The Year categories.
British-based firms Make Architects, responsible for the award winning Local House in Melbourne, and Foster + Partners, designers of the notable Deutsche Bank Place in Sydney, are also competing with TZG for Urban Architecture of the Year.
Honouring the work of industry leading architects and designers, the Asia Hotel Design Awards acknowledge creativity, innovation and excellence across 12 categories. They are judged by a panel of industry experts and peers representing the various disciplines involved in new hotel projects across the region.
