A new App developed by Fountainhead Group will help Brisbane homeowners and prospective buyers access planning regulations for their properties. The App will additionally connect them to design-led businesses that are able to complete a new build or renovation project on the property.

A brainchild of Peter Kable, the new RightToGo planning App uses open data to easily access Brisbane City Council planning regulations for a particular property.

A prospective buyer or a homeowner can use the App to find out the projects that are possible on the property, and whether they require planning permission. The system will also allow real estate agents instant access to open data from the council and state government, making it easier to answer any prospective buyers' queries about the property.

The buyer or homeowner can also use the RightToGo App to connect with relevant local, design-led businesses. Architects, interior designers, engineers, builders, pool builders and landscape designers are all listed within the App.

Peter Kable conceived the idea for RightToGo when Brisbane City Council released its City Plan 2014. Often asked by people about the potential of their properties and the planning permissions they would need for various projects, Kable had the idea to create a quick and reliable way to make planning information accessible and easily comprehensible.

Kable applied for access to maps from Brisbane City Council via Digital Brisbane. He was awarded a grant from Brisbane Marketing to develop RightToGo.

Kable explains that the RightToGo app addresses people’s need to understand the planning requirements for an individual property. This information is available immediately and at no cost to the homeowner. Once homeowners understand the requirements, they have the opportunity to access the services and expertise of individials and businesses who can help them maximise their property’s potential.

Fountainhead Group is now looking to partner with businesses throughout the Brisbane City Council area to link them to interested homeowners and developers.

The RightToGo App has launched within the Brisbane City Council are, but will soon expand to cover South-East Queensland, followed by a state-wide expansion and beyond.
