An image of a historic reservoir in London's Finsbury Park has been named the best architecture photograph of the year.
Taken by British photographer Matt Emmett, the photo of the covered reservoir (designed by the East London Waterworks Company in 1868) received the top prize at the Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards 2016 last month.
In its fourth year, the awards aim to highlight the expertise of specialist architectural photographers. This year there were four categories: exteriors, interiors, sense of place and buildings in use.

“The breadth of architectural photography presented to us was amazing. With their own distinctive view the photographers opened our eyes for a second time and helped us to discover things we hadn’t previously appreciated…,” says judge, architect and founder of Architektur Galerie Berlin, Ulrich Müller.
Emmett's photograph was exhibited alongside 19 other images shortlisted for the award at this year's World Architecture Festival in Berlin.
