Nine architecture firms responsible for some of the best new projects in Queensland’s northern regions will eagerly anticipate Friday 1 May when the 2015 Far North Queensland Regional Architecture Awards are announced.
Ten projects from nine practices are being considered for the Australian Institute of Architects event, and this year’s entries include houses, a museum, visitor centre, medical facilities, an observatory and a school addition.
Some familiar names are among the entries list, including Charles Wright Architects (CWA) whose Stamp House received the 2014 Robin Dods Award for Residential Architecture – Houses (New) at the Queensland Architecture Awards.
CWA’s latest house project ‘The Edge’ in Port Douglas is among six residential projects that will compete in this year’s regional awards.
Projects awarded on the night will progress to the Queensland State Architecture Awards to be announced in Brisbane on 26 June.
