Mental and behavioural healthcare buildings demand a considered and tailored design approach to ensure bathroom features, fixtures and fittings meet the varied needs of all users and further the outcomes of specialised care. Essential bathroom elements such as tapware can have a major impact on patient experience, comfort and safety, as well as their recovery.
GalvinCare® Mental Health Anti-Ligature Safe-Connect Shower Head with Hand Shower
The innovative aesthetically pleasing 2-in-1 GalvinCare® Safe-Connect Shower can be used for safe independent and assisted showering alike. The patented design (2018202412 Australia and 741366 New Zealand) provides two functions in one single fitting without having to install two separate outlets and an additional in-wall diverter. Thanks to its anti-ligature, anti-vandalism features the fixed wall mounted shower head can be safely used by patients on their own. When required the shower can easily and quickly be transformed to be used for assisted showering by simply attaching the auto-divert hose. Once finished the caregiver simply detaches the handheld shower and removes it from the room. This also helps to minimise the risks of infection through dead legs of water.
