A Zip HydroTap was specified for the kitchen at a newly renovated mid-century home to provide the owners instant access to filtered chilled water as well as hot and ambient water.
Located in Kent Town, a leafy green inner suburb of Adelaide, the Beaumont residence went through extensive renovation, which included a massive upgrade to the rear of the home. The new kitchen has been designed as the true hub of the home with excellent access to the outdoor deck and entertaining area. The kitchen was designed to align with the rest of the home while having a modern outlook that wasn’t out of place in the mid-century building.
The homeowners chose a bold, monochrome palette to provide a contrast to the stunning surroundings; the monochrome colour scheme helped achieve the design goals, creating a clean, crisp and inviting space brightened up with ample natural light.
Design highlights of the kitchen include all-white cabinetry on one apex beautifully balanced by the dark timber grain full-height cabinets on the other, which also conceal an integrated refrigerator and freezer as well as hidden pantry for extra convenience. A pantry bi-fold door allows for small appliances to be tucked away and shut off when not in use. The sleek, handleless cabinetry as well as an inset sink that keeps the exterior clutter-free, enhances the kitchen’s clean aesthetic and visual appeal.
With an active social life, the homeowners wanted a kitchen that could keep pace with their busy entertaining lifestyle, especially during summer. The kitchen features stacker doors to allow full and free access to the deck and entertaining area while a second entry point from inside the house enables smooth traffic flow at the busiest of times.

In keeping with the monochrome colour palette of the kitchen, the Zip HydroTap was specified in Gunmetal colour.
