Yingli Solar , the world's largest vertically integrated photovoltaic (PV) module manufacture, has announced the appointment of Daman Cole to the role of managing director of its Australian, New Zealand and Pacific operations.

Previously the commercial director, Cole’s new appointment comes after a year at Yingli. He will continue to be responsible for setting the company’s strategy, building the business, managing and expanding its distribution partnerships.

International Sales director Leon Zhao says of Cole, “Daman has made a significant contribution to the growth of Yingli Solar’s footprint in Australia over the last 12 months. He has worked closely with our distribution partners to communicate the quality and efficiency that sets Yingli Solar apart and to drive preference for our solar panels. We are delighted with the milestones he has achieved and believe that Daman will continue to lead the company on a growth path as we move into the new year.”

Yingli launched in Australia with the opening of its Sydney office in August, working with distribution and retail partners Solar 360, Zhenfa Australia, L&H Solar + Solutions – a subsidiary of L&H Group, EnviroGroup, Solgen Energy and Cablelogic.

It is renowned for the high quality and energy outputs of its PV panels, resulting in lower long term costs. Yingli has delivered more than 30 million panels or the equivalent of more than 7 gigawatts of solar energy to homes, businesses and utilities in more than 40 countries.
