Collaborating with International Industrial Design Studio Michael Young, Woven Image launches Muse Mineral, Muse Cloudy and Muse Fluid. Utilising industrial design software, patterns have been developed via the concept of mathematical algorithms, a cutting edge technological approach which encompasses the creation of shapes and movement through 2D animation. Mirroring the concept of fractal geometry found in nature, what appears to be close-up simplicity of dots, line-work and repetition results in a beautiful visual illusion from afar. They are designed to be installed panel to panel allowing for a continuous flow of pattern, across a wall. Due to the complexity of the Fluid design it has been printed with visual 'trim lines' for ease of install.
The design of Cloudy is created via a series of varying dots that are gathered together in groups appearing as 'clouds'. It is available is 3 colourways, 2 functional neutrals alongside a feature pearlescent emerald hue. Mineral is a cross-hatch style design which combines diagonal line-work that becomes thicker and thinner over the panel creating a patchwork effect which is available is 2 neutral colourways of charcoal and chalk. Fluid evokes the movement of the ocean with a multitude of dots in rows, like beads on a string, that flow across the panel creating wave-like effect from afar. It is available in 5 colourways featuring shimmering pearlescent gold dust on charcoal, pantone colour of the year lavender, a subtle creamy pearl latte, directional metallic emerald and a matte chalk on mist combination.
In additional to the three Michael Young designs, Muse Pulse has also been released. Pulse comprises a series of printed diagonal lines that travel from the base to the top of the panel creating a subtle texture effect. It has been specifically designed to pattern match ‘out of the box’ for ease of install. Available in 3 colourways, charcoal on marle grey, pearl blush and chalk on mist, pulse provides a functional interior vertical surface solution.
All four designs are printed onto a new base product called Muse which is 100% PET (68% recycled content). They are specifically designed for floor to ceiling single sided wall panel applications, Muse provides a pin-able surface with acoustic benefits achieving an NRC of 0.30.
