The Timber and Interior Design Seminar being organised by Wood Solutions
in Sydney on November 13 will feature leading architects and timber experts as
speakers.
Simon Barr of FJMT and Shaun Carter of Carterwilliamson Architects will
join other speakers at the upcoming WoodSolutions Timber and Interior Design
Seminar, a free seminar that will explore the use of timber in residential and
public building interiors and carries three formal CPD points for architects.
Simon Barr, Senior Associate, has been the project leader in numerous
award-winning projects for FJMT including Surry Hills Community Centre,
Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centre, Macquarie University Library and the
Little Bay residential apartments.
Shaun Carter, Principal of Carterwilliamson Architects will speak on
their recent project Spiegel House, which won the Residential Interior category
at the 2014 Australian Timber Design Awards.
Simon and Shaun will be joined by experienced timber joiner Robert Breda
of APR Joinery, Petra Strich who will speak on Tasmanian hardwoods and Criswell
Davis, an American hardwoods expert and design consultant.
The Timber Development Association's Stephen Mitchell will also provide
an update on development of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for
Australian timber products for Green Star rated interiors.
