USG Boral has been supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal (GFA) Charity House project since 1993 as part of their strong commitment to philanthropic projects worldwide.
The charity home for this year’s auction is located 16 Domingo Avenue, Clyde North, which is part of Villawood’s boutique Delaray community. Proceeds from the auction, which is scheduled for Friday 19 April, will go to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The 2019 Henley and Villawood Properties’ charity home is a grand family home with four spacious bedrooms, five living spaces, and a large alfresco area. The home will be appointed with luxury fittings and fixtures, and finished with professional landscaping, decking, ducted heating and air-conditioning, and window coverings.
The unique aspect of the charity home is that everything within the home has been donated. This year, USG Boral supplied and installed approximately 1000m² of 10mm sheetrock plasterboard and 250 lineal metres of cornice, taking the company’s donation of product and services to more than $350,000 since the initiative was launched in 1993.
Bryan Kennedy, contracting manager VIC/TAS, USG Boral says, “Many USG Boral employees and their families have a personal connection to the Royal Children’s Hospital. Through children who have had to attend the hospital for medical reasons, or family and friends who work in children’s wards and specialist paediatric units.
“Being involved with the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal charity auction provides USG Boral with an opportunity to give something real back to our community of customers and consumers who support us through the inclusion of USG Boral products in their building projects.”
USG Boral undertakes a number of philanthropic projects each year to help improve the lives of people locally, and the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal is one of the key initiatives. Observing that the Henley home is outstanding in design and finish, Kennedy is confident this year’s auction will achieve another record result for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
“USG Boral continues to be a valued supplier with the Good Friday Appeal Charity Home. We are proud and humbled that year after year, USG Boral enthusiastically contributes to the project, knowing that every dollar from the auction will go to the Royal Children’s Hospital,” adds Tony Blackshaw, CEO, Henley Properties.
