Thermofilm inducted into Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame

Thermofilm Australia has won the 2014 Manufacturer of the Year Award in the Small Business category. The induction ceremony was conducted by the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame, under the auspices of Business Victoria (State Government).

Thermofilm Australia won the prestigious honour for designing, manufacturing, distributing and exporting a range of innovative electric heating products for more than 25 years.

The event also saw two other 2014 Manufacturer of the Year Award recipients, SRX Global (Large Business) and Future Fibre Technologies (Medium Business) inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame.

The Hon. David Hodgett MP, Minister for Manufacturing, said the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame celebrates the champions of Victorian manufacturing - organisations who have risen to the challenges that face the manufacturing sector and have forged new and exciting paths across the manufacturing landscape.

He added that this year’s talented group of innovators are meeting the challenges through technology, increased productivity and ingenuity as well as spirit, innovation and vision, all of which have contributed to making Victoria the nation’s centre of manufacturing excellence.

Based in Springvale, the family-owned Thermofilm employs around 20 personnel and manufactures the award-winning Heatstrip electric radiant heaters and a range of radiant and convective indoor heaters, designed for commercial, residential and institutional markets.

Thermofilm managing director, Bob Reynolds said that the award recognises the company as an innovative manufacturer that has achieved export success and has a vision for the future.

He added that their products are designed and developed by an engineering team with extensive experience in research, prototyping, testing and product approvals to ensure world class quality and innovation.

Reynolds acknowledged the government assistance received by Thermofilm in the form of export development grants and training support that have contributed to the company’s success.
