The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) recently installed their heavy duty concertina door to the canteen at The University of Western Australia in Perth to separate it from the library for after-hour use by students.

The very large spans (9700mm and 6500mm wide) were secured through the use of the Australian made S06 heavy duty concertina door, which allows maximum ventilation through its scissor action cross linkages.

The concertina door is suspended from a heavy duty top track, which is in turn supported from a structural overhead beam. The door achieves seamless lock up through a system of up/down locking mechanisms. The doors concertina sideways to a minimal storage compaction size. The installation did not require floor tracks or removable mullions.

The Subiaco-based builder Fairweather & Sons served as the project manager for the installation.

ATDC’s concertina doors are also available in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra, and in all capital cities and regional centres across Australia.
