The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) recently completed the installation of their extendable safety gates at the Perth Children’s Hospital as well as at Sydney’s Prince of Wales Hospital.

For the Perth Children’s Hospital project, ATDC installed their extendable safety gates across numerous eateries and fast food restaurants in the hospital’s food court area, both as a health and safety requirement as well as a loss prevention solution. With no walls or ceilings, the kiosk style restaurants and eateries were perfect for ATDC’s gates since there was no need for any support structure.

Key features of ATDC’s extendable safety gates include portable, mobile and trackless design eliminating any need for a support structure; series of heavy duty bottom thermoplastic castors that lock into the finished floor; and cost-effective lock-up solution preventing the public from gaining access to the food stored onsite overnight.

ATDC’s extendable safety gates meet all the health and safety, and loss prevention challenges faced in the hospital’s food court.

A similar installation at Sydney’s Prince of Wales Hospital saw the same type of extendable safety gates being specified for numerous retail tenancies and medical speciality practices primarily to provide an effective lock-up solution, particularly in instances where there was no structure to support any alternate type of overhead door system or where the support structure was simply inadequate.

ATDC’s gates are WorkSafe certified under current OH&S legislation and the company has a fully audited and documented WH&S Risk Assessment certification. The gates have also been tested for safety under the Temporary Fencing provisions of the Australian Standards 4687-2007.

ATDC’s extendable safety gates are now sold in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra as well as in all regional towns across the country. These extendable gates can also be easily shipped both nationally and internationally as an easy-to-install DIY system; and are also successfully exported to many countries in the Asia Pacific, South East Asia, the Pacific Islands and the UAE.
