Retractable steel security doors from The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) were specified for the prestigious Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School in Melbourne’s Keilor East.

ATDC recently completed a very large installation of its S08 and S05 retractable steel security doors at the Melbourne school.

Melbourne based architectural firm McBride Charles Ryan specified retractable steel security doors for the school project, and worked closely with ATDC to detail all aspects of the massive installation. Key challenges in the project included securing very wide curved apertures with pronounced sloping floors as well as the difficulty in locking the security doors onto a surface due to the absence of walls.

ATDC recommended their S08 and S05 retractable steel security doors for the school project, helping overcome all design and installation challenges including the provision of seamless up/down key turn shoot bolt locking mechanisms, which were easily keyable to the school’s restrictive master key system. The 4-metre high overhead fixing points were well within the height specification of ATDC’s retractable security doors.

ATDC worked closely with project managers Construction Engineering to complete the installation within very tight deadlines. ATDC’s retractable steel security doors were installed at several locations in the school including entries, hallways, passageways, alcoves, doors, windows, classrooms, playground access areas, school hall, library and service desk areas.

ATDC’s retractable steel security doors are recommended for securing educational institutions such as technical and trade colleges, universities, schools, kindergartens and day-care centres as well as government and public buildings including museums, exhibition centres and art galleries.

ATDC’S retractable steel security doors are now sold in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra as well as all regional centres across Australia.
