ATDC expanding trellis security barriers close the door on theft for pubs and liquor outlets

Precision engineered expanding trellis security doors by The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) are successfully protecting a number of businesses in the hospitality industry against unauthorised entry and theft.

With the increasing number of ram raids and robberies in pubs and hotels, security is top priority for shop and business owners and managers.

BWS, the Australian retail chain of liquor stores owned by Woolworths Limited is a regular user of ATDC’s trellis security doors and has installed them at over 30 of their outlets across the country.

Ms Karen Price, Project Manager for NSW/ACT for the BWS Group explains that the ATDC trellis doors are part of their specifications to builders when renovating existing stores or acquiring new stores. The organisation has been using the security doors for several years with great success, with ATDC considered a preferred vendor.

She adds that being a liquor outlet makes the BWS stores a common target for break-ins and thefts, but the trellis doors work as a great deterrent for thieves while protecting their stock, and providing peace of mind and safety for staff.

ATDC’s popular mobile trackless trellis barrier operates on trolleys and can be wheeled away and stored out of sight during the day. An economical security solution, these barriers provide enormous flexibility, allowing proprietors to close off awkward openings that are difficult to secure.

The mobile trellis barriers are used by Sydney’s 24-hour pub Scruffy Murphy’s as a preventative measure. The pub operates three bars with some of them closed at certain times of the day. The doors prevent any customer from straying into the closed bars and helping themselves to drinks while also removing any temptation for staff to steal stock.

Observing that the doors provide security and peace of mind, Scruffy Murphy’s Ms Cecilia Molloy says that she would recommend this product to similar businesses as a theft prevention strategy.
