Tensile systems from the Jakob Green Solutions range were installed on a domestic pergola in Switzerland to brace the structure and also support the planting.
Tensile systems can be utilised in various buildings to provide increased amenity to a space. The Jakob Green Solutions range was specified for this pergola to show how simple clean details can be used to enhance the space, providing privacy and solar shading, and stimulating a closer connection with the environment.
In this installation, a 4mm diameter stainless steel wire, which is typically used for domestic scale work in many of Tensile’s arbour/pergola structures, has been employed to serve a dual function – as bracing for the pergola as well as support for the planting structure.
Species selection is a critical aspect of the final design and takes into consideration, the plant’s growth patterns, its needs at maturity, and ongoing maintenance requirement to provide enjoyment to the users for many years to come.
