Taubmans announces the launch of a new creative campaign alongside their new Colour Galaxy Fandeck.

The new campaign, Off Canvas, pays tribute to Taubmans founder George Henry Taubman, a Sydney sign writer who in the late 1890s decided to establish his own paint business following his dissatisfaction with the quality of paints available then in the Australian market.

The Off Canvas program was launched at DEN Furniture + Design Fair in May with TJ Guzzardi, a Melbourne sign painter commissioned to paint signs throughout the event. The Taubmans stand at the DEN Fair resembled a traditional sign writer's workshop, where TJ Guzzardi created works of the old and new Taubmans paint colour names such as ‘Mojo’ and ‘Acid Rock’, reviving his old art and paying homage to George Taubman.

In celebration of the brand’s history and the launch of the new Colour Galaxy Fandeck, Taubmans also created a limited edition Colour Galaxy Fandeck bag, featuring artwork by muralist Stephen Baker. ‘The Painter’ artwork has been created exclusively for Taubmans by Stephen and is inspired by Taubmans' founder, George Taubman and his signwriting trade.

Taubmans also announced their latest collaboration with acclaimed Melbourne street artist Rone. Famous for his large-scale paintings of striking women, Rone began his career stencilling on skateboards and skate parks, and travels the world today to create major commissioned artworks.
