Available from Supawood Architectural Lining Systems , Supaslat slatted ceiling panels have enhanced the fit-out of the new Federal Government Department headquarters in Canberra’s City West region.

The building has achieved a 6 Star Green Star v2 Design rating. A 5 Star NAGERS rating plus 5 Star Green Star Office Design and Office As Built v2 certification are also being sought.

A Green Star accredited consultant was employed by the design and construction team to help achieve the highest Green Star rating possible. To achieve the 6 Star rating, only sustainable building methods and materials were used throughout, and Supawood’s Supaslat ceiling panels fitted perfectly the stringent criteria required.

The fit-out by the sole Government agency tenant was 100% integrated with the base building works allowing for every detail to be pre-planned. Supaslat innovative and flexible pre-finished slatted ceiling panels in natural sustainable timber were selected for the ceilings of the common lounge areas. These acoustic ceiling panels are constructed from sections of timber that are assembled into a panel that produces a floating or directional effect once installed. The wooden slats are wide and can be complimented by striped carpet, offering a striking feeling of extended space.

Supaslat ceiling panels were supplied with Supawood’s acoustic insulation option to minimize noise levels in the large open areas, helping to attain further green points for the fit-out. Additionally, due to the expanses of these ceilings, the panels also accommodated a large number of concealed hatches that are required to access services in the ceiling cavity such as air conditioning, sprinklers and integrated lighting.

Supaslat panels are Australian made and are supplied with Supawood's unique fixing systems, meaning installation is concealed, quick and cost effective.
