Studco Building Systems offers a steel strap solution to be used in place of steel noggins in curved steel stud walls.
A noggin is used in a steel stud wall to provide support and prevent twisting of the studs during the installation of lining boards. However, standard steel noggins are not suitable for use in curved walls as they are not flexible.
Studco’s steel straps offer a viable alternative and can be used in place of steel noggins in such applications.
How to install
Once the curved wall has been constructed and studs have been fixed, mark the required centreline for the noggin line. Starting at the first stud, simply weave the steel strap through each stud fixing to the face of each stud. Ensure the steel strap is pulled firm before moving onto the next fixing point.
