Stiebel Eltron (Aust) has introduced a new decentralised hot water system featuring a compact design and delivering significant energy and water savings in the home.
Stiebel’s new mains pressure storage water heaters, SHC 10 AU and SHC 15 AU, are installed directly underneath the basin or sink to deliver hot water immediately and more efficiently. Being compact in size when compared to conventional 25-litre storage heaters, the SHCs free up precious space in the cupboard.
The new water heaters address the problem of energy wastage experienced with conventional water heating systems where hot water is pumped from a central storage tank to its actual point of use in the bathroom and kitchen. However, by installing the hot water system right where it is needed, the dead legs are eliminated, resulting in considerable savings for the household in water and energy consumption. Additionally, the new Stiebel units do away with the long waiting times for hot water to arrive at the outlet.
Key features of Stiebel’s new SHC 10/15 AU hot water systems include German-make tank design incorporating highly efficient thermal insulation to minimise energy losses; simple installation right under or near the sink to be used for one or multiple outlets; 6.5 Amp current draw eliminating special wiring requirement; designed to suit all hot water taps; ability to work with soft and hard water; and integrated anode protection ensuring a long life for the enamelled steel cylinder manufactured by Stiebel Eltron.
