Smoke Control installed Fibershield S fire curtains to completely fire-seal stair voids across several levels of interconnecting stairs in a Melbourne corporate office.
Smoke Control was contracted to fire separate seven levels of interconnecting stairs in the corporate head office located in Melbourne CBD. The designers wanted the stair voids to be completely fire sealed while also retaining visual aesthetics for the area around the void, which meant posts or side guides could not be used.
Fibershield S fire curtains provide one of the highest quality life safety systems while remaining invisible throughout the building’s everyday use. The curtain system completely seals the void space as a whole unit without using unsightly steel posts and side guides on each corner.
Motion sensors were installed on each curtain based on Fire Engineer specifications. These sensors provided multifunctional operation with time delays and were integrated with the building’s strobe warning light system.
