Metashield fire shutters from Smoke Control provide highly reliable fire compartmentation and security.
The Metashield from Smoke Control is one of the largest approved metal fire shutter systems available on the market, with openings up to 18m wide x 7m high. Metashield fire shutters are available in various finishes including; paint, hot dip galvanised mild steel, high grade 316 or 304 stainless steel and a combination of hot dipped galvanised mild steel and stainless steel.
This system has two optional modes of operation, a gravity fail safe closure or a motor driven closure.
The motor driven closure option does not strictly comply with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) standards, however, in an environment where trouble free and regular closure is required, the motorised system may be suitable as an alternative solution.
When BCA compliant systems are required the gravity fail safe system is clearly specified. Metashield fire shutters have been fire tested for up to 4 hours fire protection in accordance with AS1530.4.standards.
The metashield comes in either a horizontal or laterally operating system with specialty systems for escalators also available.
