The new Colori Aqua range of mixer taps from
Smeg Australia combines clever innovation, high aesthetics and increased safety for the modern kitchen.
Available in two highly functional models (ST110C and ST120SC), Colori Aqua kitchen mixer taps feature temperature sensitive LED lights that visually indicate the temperature of the water.
The elegantly arched mixer taps illuminate the water as it leaves the spout, indicating through colour the temperature of the water. A sparkling stream of blue water when cold indicates temperature below 31ºC, white lit water indicates warm water between 31ºC and 43ºC and bright red for hot water from 43ºC to 50ºC. When the water temperature exceeds 50ºC, the red light begins to flash to avoid scalding incidents.
Aside from the visual response to shimmering, light-filled coloured water, a major advantage of the technology is that of safety, especially for children and the elderly who can be warned of the potential dangers of hot water with the coloured lights.
A clever little turbine in the spout powers the coloured light, using the movement of water to generate the energy. This low maintenance technology eliminates the need for battery power or any energy source to fuel the LEDs.
Colori Aqua kitchen mixer taps have been designed by Smeg, the makers of the beautifully coloured retro styled FAB refrigerators and dishwashers.
