Carpet tiles from two collections by Signature Floors were selected by Borg Architects during the renovation of IDP Lonsdale’s tertiary education centre.

Large educational facilities rely on wayfinding and zoning to help users effortlessly transition between rooms and spaces. Flooring is an efficient tool that can significantly impact how visitors, students and staff experience educational environments. The use of different shapes and colours not only lends energy and vibrancy to the space but also helps users navigate the interior areas.

Keeping this in mind, Borg Architects chose to work with Signature’s flexible Shift carpet tiles from the Pixel collection as well as the Shapes collection.

The design objective was to create a cohesive look and connect individual spaces, while ensuring each space also appeared distinct. Borg chose from a palette of 30 stocked colours in Shift and 10 modular shapes to update the look throughout the IDP Lonsdale centre.
