From a commercial interior design firm to a full service design and construct company, Habitat 1 has considerably evolved over the years. Founded in 2004 by Christian Formby and Milos Stojsavljevic, Habitat 1 is a national, multifaceted design and construction company with their scope of work encompassing all aspects of commercial office fitouts and multi-storeyed residential architecture.
Having grown to three times its original size, Habitat 1 decided to move into a larger office space that would accommodate their team as well as their new requirements.
The designers at Habitat 1 wanted to create a showroom environment by using various products and materials to showcase what could be achieved when creating a functional, realistic workplace. It was important to create a comfortable and friendly working environment for their staff and clients to enjoy.
The refurbishment also needed to be completed in a very quick timeframe. Several natural materials were specified for the refurbishment to meet Habitat 1’s sustainability requirements. The designers also wanted natural light and ventilation to create a healthy work environment.
Signature carpet tiles from the Friendly - Wind and Earth collections were selected for the Habitat 1 office flooring.
Why Signature Floorconcepts:
The extensive colour palette was a major factor in the selection of Signature Floors carpet tiles because the available colours in the collections could be easily coordinated with other finishes used in the fitout. The tiles were readily available in the Melbourne warehouse, which, backed by the exceptional customer service already received from Signature’s Commercial Representative, influenced the final decision.
