A custom design carpet from Signature Floors helped the architects deliver an impactful space at Knox Grammar School’s new performing arts centre.

With the performing arts an integral part of the cultural life at Knox, the school required state-of-the-art facilities to support the next generation of performing artists. The new performing arts centre has been designed to inspire and promote excellence in music and drama.

NBRS Architecture sought a custom design floor that also needed to be extremely hardwearing to withstand the heavy foot traffic. The flooring brief for Signature Floors requested a statement carpet that would withstand heavy foot traffic and general wear over time, while also delivering a premium and unique feel to the space.

Why Signature Floorconcepts

Signature Studio’s custom design programme was the perfect solution for the flooring brief. The carpet design features a geometric pattern in a complementary colour palette made up of cool grey hues and a bold blue linear pattern.

The bold but calming colour choice is balanced out by natural light and sleek contemporary furnishings, making the custom carpet the hero of the space.

The NSW school’s performing arts centre is yet another example of how playful and personalised design is being increasingly used to invigorate communal spaces.

NBRS Architecture stated they were very happy with the custom carpet design as well as working with the Signature Studio team.
