The Australian-made QUATTRO stage system from Select Staging Concepts helped the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne meet compliance requirements mandated for disability seating in the iconic stadium.

Home of the Australian Open Tennis and venue for all major touring performers, Rod Laver Arena (RLA) went through a comprehensive $700 million upgrade spread over four years. As per the recent Disability Discrimination Act legislation, the venue needed to provide a minimum level of wheelchair and disabled seating for patrons.

The contractor, Lendlease Building sought a simple access system to give RLA the flexibility to install and remove disability seating platforms based on event ticket sales to disability patrons.

Select Concept recommended their QUATTRO stage system for the stadium’s requirement since it was easily adaptable and customisable to suit many situations including tiered seating, choir risers and stages. Select Staging Concepts designed a removable and easily stored disability seating platform system using QUATTRO componentry.

The customised seating platforms have been installed at the RLA, enabling the arena to become compliant and meet their legal DDA obligations.
